Patrick Von Bargen
Patrick Von Bargen is a Georgetown-University-certified leadership coach, with experience advising political leaders, public office holders, candidates, entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, and high-profile leaders in larger business organizations. Patrick coaches individual leaders and teams. While each coaching engagement is different, they often start with a 360 Assessment process (in which he is also certified). Although Patrick regularly points his clients to useful resources on a number of topics, the focus of his practice is to help clients identify their challenges, find the answers within themselves, and encourage them to take steps of their own design to achieve the results they desire.
Patrick’s career spans more than three decades, during which he (1) was Campaign Manager and then Chief of Staff to a United States Senator who served 30 years in the Senate and chaired the Senate Energy Committee; (2) served as U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission Chief of Staff to Bill Donaldson, who had previously founded the first investment bank to go public (Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette), been Chairman of the New York Stock Exchange, founded the Yale School of Management, and served as Chairman of the Board of Aetna Corporation; (3) counseled entrepreneurs and venture capital funds in his law practice; (4) headed the National Commission on Entrepreneurship; (5) served as CEO of the premier leadership development program for venture capitalists, the Kauffman Fellows Program; and (6) founded and built a boutique business strategy and policy firm representing innovative and sustainable companies.
In addition to his Georgetown leadership coaching program, Patrick is a graduate of the Yale School of Management, Stanford Law School, and Stanford University.
